Common questions

How long does the voice recording take?
About 45 seconds of reading. Auvro Tales walks you through three short scenes — each takes roughly 15 seconds to read. The whole setup, from opening the app to a playable voice, typically takes under five minutes.
Does Auvro Tales work offline?
Yes. Voice cloning, story synthesis, and playback all run on your iPhone with no internet connection required. The app works in airplane mode. New story content (for example, future seasons) is the only thing that needs a connection, and only once to download.
Is my voice sent anywhere?
No. Your voice recording and voice model stay on your device. The raw recording is deleted the moment the voice model is built. The model is encrypted with a hardware-backed key and excluded from iCloud backups. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
How do I delete my voice?
Open the Voice tab in the app, choose your voice profile, and tap Delete. This destroys the voice model, the encryption key in the Secure Enclave, and the consent receipt — in that order. After deletion completes, the app confirms that the model can no longer be read.
The voice sounds strange on certain words
The on-device voice engine occasionally struggles with specific names, unusual words, or unfamiliar punctuation. We're actively improving this. If you notice a word that consistently sounds wrong, email us the word and we'll add it to our fix list.
My recording was marked with a quality nudge
Auvro Tales measures the loudness and clarity of your recording and gently flags scenes that came in very quiet, very whispered, or with background noise. Your voice model is still created either way. If the narration doesn't sound right to you, open the Voice tab and re-record any flagged scene. Reading at the same level as a normal conversation, in a quiet room, gives the best results.
Can my child tap the screen during a story?
Auvro Tales is designed so the parent sets up playback and then puts the phone down — the story plays to the end without any taps. Tapping the screen during a story reveals simple parent controls (pause, chapter jump). The app never asks the child to interact.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Open the Settings tab in Auvro Tales and tap Your Plan — that opens Apple's subscription manager, where you can cancel, change plan, or redeem an offer. You can also manage your subscription in iOS Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions. Canceling stops future renewals; you keep access until the end of your current billing period.
I was charged after cancelling
All purchases and refunds are handled by Apple. If you see a charge you didn't expect, request a refund from Apple directly at reportaproblem.apple.com. We do not have access to your payment information or the ability to issue refunds ourselves.
The app is using a lot of storage
The on-device voice engine and the story artwork together take up several hundred megabytes. This is the cost of running voice cloning and high-resolution illustrations entirely offline, without streaming or cloud inference. You can reclaim space by deleting your voice model (Voice tab → Delete), which also removes all cached story audio.
Can I use this on iPad?
Yes. Auvro Tales supports iPhone and iPad in portrait orientation. Your subscription works across both as long as they're signed in to the same Apple ID.
I found a bug
Please email support@auvro.app with your iPhone or iPad model, iOS version, app version (shown at the bottom of the Settings tab), and a description of what happened. Screenshots or screen recordings are hugely helpful.
