Auvro Tales is a bedtime-story app by Auvro, operated by a parent. It is designed so that the parent never needs an account, and the child never needs to touch the phone. Voice recordings, the generated voice model, and every story stay on your device.
We do not collect, store, transmit, or have access to:
We do not use cookies, tracking pixels, or fingerprinting. We do not integrate with any advertising, attribution, or social network. We do not sell, share, or transfer user data to any third party.
To create the narration voice, Auvro Tales asks you (the parent) to read a short passage aloud across three scenes — about a minute and a half of audio total. The recording is processed on your device by a bundled on-device voice engine to build a compact voice model.
As soon as the voice model is built, the raw audio recording is deleted. The voice model itself is encrypted with a hardware-backed key held in the Secure Enclave (iOS) and is excluded from iCloud backups. Keys are non-exportable and bound to your specific device.
You can delete the voice model at any time from the app's Voice settings. Deletion is irreversible and destroys the encryption key along with the model.
Your voice is considered biometric data under laws such as Illinois BIPA, Texas CUBI, and the California CCPA. Before the microphone is activated, Auvro Tales shows an explicit disclosure of what the voice recording is used for and how long it is kept, and requires you to tap an affirmative consent button. A local consent receipt (a timestamp plus a hash of the disclosure text you agreed to) is stored on your device for your records. Revoking consent or deleting the voice model destroys this receipt.
Auvro Tales is a parent-operated tool. The app contains no form, field, or mechanism to enter anything about a child — no names, ages, photos, or profiles. Story characters use fictional names; there is no option to customize a character with a real child's information. Playback is passive audio; the child is never asked to tap or interact with the device.
All stories in the current version of Auvro Tales are bundled inside the app itself. They are available offline and no network call is made to fetch story content. Future versions may fetch additional story templates from an anonymous content-delivery server at catalog.auvrotales.com. Any such fetch would be an anonymous HTTPS GET request carrying only the app version string — no user identifier, no device identifier, no authentication.
The optional premium subscription is processed entirely by Apple through StoreKit 2. Your Apple ID, billing information, and subscription status are handled by Apple's infrastructure; Auvro Tales only observes whether an entitlement is active on the current device. Apple's App Store handling of your purchase is subject to Apple's Privacy Policy.
Auvro Tales has the ability to send anonymous crash and diagnostic telemetry to Sentry (privacy policy). When this capability is enabled in a release build, each report is strictly scrubbed before it leaves the device and includes only: a crash stack trace or a named diagnostic event from an app-internal allowlist, the device model, the operating system version, and the app version.
We never include raw audio, voice model data, story text, user-entered text, child data, location, advertising identifiers, screenshots, or view-hierarchy information in any report. Telemetry is disabled entirely during Playback Mode — while a story is playing, no network request is made for any reason.
Initial App Store release: This capability ships off in the first public build. No crash or diagnostic data is transmitted. The App Store privacy label for this release is “Data Not Collected”. If a future release enables this capability, this policy and the App Store privacy label will be updated before that release ships.
Raw voice recording — held in an encrypted temporary directory during processing, deleted the moment the voice model is built. If deletion fails, the app enters an error state and refuses to proceed.
Voice model — encrypted with a hardware-backed key in the Secure Enclave. Excluded from iCloud backups.
Cached story audio — generated on your device when a story is played. Deleted when you delete the voice model.
Consent receipt — timestamp plus a hash of the disclosure text, stored on your device. Deleted with the voice model.
App preferences — things like which story you last played, saved in on-device storage only. No identifiers, no network sync.
Auvro Tales is a parent-operated tool and is categorized as Lifestyle (age rating 4+) on the App Store. It is not listed in the Kids category. The app does not collect any data from any user, and specifically does not collect any information about children. Parents are responsible for deciding when and how to use the app around their child. The child never interacts with the app directly.
Apple StoreKit 2 — processes subscription purchases and entitlements. See Apple's Privacy Policy.
Sentry — used for scrubbed, opt-in diagnostic telemetry when enabled in release builds. See Sentry's Privacy Policy. Not active in the initial public release.
No other third-party service is used. Auvro Tales contains no advertising SDK, no attribution SDK, no social SDK, and no remote AI inference service.
Because we do not have any user data, there is nothing for us to look up, export, or delete on request. All your data is on your device and is fully under your control. To erase everything Auvro Tales has stored, delete the voice model in the app's Voice settings or uninstall the app.
If we change our data practices, we will update this page and the date above. Meaningful changes will be reflected in the app's App Store privacy label before the relevant build ships.
